Baby Rugs can be soft and cuddly or sturdy and strong

Baby rugs for the nursery can be chosen with the furnishings in mind.  For instance, if you plan to use a rocking chair in your baby's room, something like hand hooked childrens area rugs or sturdy braided ones will help keep the rocker stationary.  If you need to cover most of the floor, large sized baby rugs with playful designs are also good for a rocker.  These 100% nylon carpets are stain and fire resistant, antibacterial and very longwearing.

Made for safety in the nursery, baby rugs that are bound on all sides and have a slip resistant backing are a good idea.  Other safety measures include finishing all painting and installation of furnishings well before baby's arrival, to be sure she (he) isn't inhaling air pollutants.  Childrens area rugs should be easily cleaned, or of a size that can be thrown into the washer, or hosed off outside and hung to dry. We liked the cotton chenille rugs.

If you already have a carpeted floor and want throw-type baby rugs, try a sheepskin rug where baby and mom can sit and play.  They feel so warm and cuddly, and are great any time of the year.  We have scoured the internet and have discovered literally hundreds of wonderful childrens area rugs for the nursery.  Have fun choosing one for you and your baby.
