Stair Runners complement decor with rug designs for halls and stairs

Stair runners are the greatest if you have stairs to another floor in your home.  Beautiful hardwood stairs stand out even more when you add a rug runner in a traditional or custom design.  There are many different styles, including Oriental and Persian designs. Some of these stair runners can be ordered up to 100' long.  They come without fringe for installation on your stairway.  If you need an antique rug runner they are also available, but usually come in shorter lengths.

Safety is a big factor in the need for stair runners as they can prevent slipping on slick hardwood floors.  They can either be tacked down to secure them, or you can get beautiful stair rods to hold them in place between tread and riser.  These pretty rug runners can also be used to warm a long hallway and can be bought fringed just like a room size rug.

We also found a great looking sisal rug runner that has a choice of fabrics for the wide padded border.  These have a latex backing and are awesome in either contemporary or traditional settings.  They could be used as stair runners if the length would permit.

Probably the most popular stair runners are the handmade Persian patterns.  Two of our favorites are the Heriz and Malayer rug runners which are beautiful in a traditional hallway as well.

Stair runners just seem to complete the floor covering design for your interiors. You will have many choices when shopping online.
